Supports for people living with vision loss * research, public education, and vision health services Low Vision Services: Vision assessment designed specifically for people with low vision * tips and tricks for maximizing sight * one-on-one instruction in the use of helpful devices that may enhance sight Independent Living Services: Works with individuals one-on-one or in a group setting, helping build the skills to live independently Independent Travel: Teaches individuals to walk with a sighted person, cane, to cross at intersections, ride public transportation and navigate through work or school campus Library: Accessible materials in formats like Braille and audio Assistive Technology Services: Products (accessible audio book players, to video magnifiers, to computer screen readers and other items) * assists with finding eligible financial supports for the purchase of assistive products Shop CNIB: A large array of products and technology for better living with vision loss such as magnifiers of all kinds; talking watches, timers and scales; large-button phones; and color identifier, braille board games, tactile dice, TV magnifiers and large-print playing cards, white canes, pocket magnifiers, specialty sunglasses and talking pedometers, high-contrast, large-print keyboards; braillers; signature guides; and talking calculators Vision loss rehabilitation: Functional vision assessment * explain eye diseases and how they affect vision * teach techniques for maximizing eyesight * one-on-one instruction on helpful sight-enhancing devices |
