Description of Services: The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit (CAMHU) is an acute care unit for youth who are in acute psychiatric distress.

Working in collaboration with Hamilton Health Sciences Corporation, this unit provides in-patient treatment to adolescents at risk of harming themselves or others, or struggling with acute symptoms of mental illness.

Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Children Only ; Youth Only
Age: All
Application: Youth requiring a psychiatric admission can speak with their family physician, call the crisis line, speak with their school nurse, or present to their local emergency department.
