Description of Services: Mînowacihewin - Regional Service for Indigenous People (MINO) provides mental health support and services to individuals who self-identify as Indigenous in partnership with other regional and district level community partners throughout the northeast region. The service provides supports to patients and their treatment teams while they are preparing for discharge from hospital and offer time limited follow-up in their home community as appropriate and in partnership with community based services. This program also offers capacity building and consultation for cultural safety and indigenous mental health in all care environments
Requirements
Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Inuit Only ; Metis Only ; Indigenous Peoples (Canada) Only ; First Nations Only
Age: 18 years and older
Application: Participation with our service is voluntary and referrals can be made through an inpatient process for patients and their families. We also accept appropriate community based referrals for individuals in the northeast and for the family members who support them. Community based consultation referrals within the northeast are by phone only.
